EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST, CLINICAL TRIALS WORKING GROUP

The Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Network Aotearoa supports a series of working groups, involving a diverse range of health and voluntary sector professionals. They provide advice, recommendations and action plans on specific areas of service delivery across the continuum of cancer care for the AYA population (12 to 24 years).

Improved research and participation in clinical trials is pivotal to attaining better long-term outcomes for young people with cancer. In New Zealand we have a low accrual rate onto clinical trials for the AYA population.

The focus of the Clinical Trials Working Group is to explore and support the development of strategies and tools to improve/support access to participation onto clinical trials for AYA cancer patients.

We are looking for interested representatives from the following professional groups or organisations:

 Paediatric Oncologist/Haematologist

 Adult Oncologist

 Adult Haematologist

 Clinical research representatives - Paediatrics and Adults

 Funding/Planning/Management

 AYA Key Worker

 Regional representation

 Nursing

Working group members would be expected to demonstrate active involvement and attendance at the majority of meetings held. This will be an annual face-to-face meeting and 6-8 weekly video/teleconferences.

For more information and/or to apply email: info@ayacancernetwork.org.nz or call Heidi Watson, National Clinical Lead on 021 337 129021 337 129 . Expressions of Interest are open from 24 November 2015 and close 11 December 2015.
